Warm Coldness
I didn't know it was possible to ever find
A lover like you who could be so cold
And yet at times so warm; a heart I can’t uphold
I entered your world blinded by love
Little did I know, I'd feel my heart's fiery flame
Slowly dying in the winter of yours,
For ignoring your warning, I feel such shame
I should have listened, I should have left
I chased a heart who wished for loneliness
And offered fire to a heart of blizzard,
I don't blame you; it was my fault, my cockiness
I thought I could help you, yet true it is, I admit,
That you never asked for it, never needed it.
I refuse to give up on you
But what should I actually do?
If we make this work either way
Will you always be so distant, will our love decay?
You said it yourself,
I'm the only one who's trying to make it work,
If I keep walking this path perhaps I'll go berserk,
For I over-loved, and I'm so sorry.
Unfortunately you were always right,
I wasn't just silly, I was stupid,
For chasing mirages in the ice,
That's why I say goodbye, I give up on this fight.
LXII
My Darling
Darling, to you who live overseas,
I declare yet again my unconditional love,
And write a new poem to put my feelings at ease.
Never have I felt such indefinable emotions,
Nor have I intended to defy all my notions,
Eagerly letting romance into my life.
I have always been against such things, for I saw
Love as a mere fairy tale, a horrible and feeble lie.
Oh, but how ignorant was I on the subject,
Vibrant colors has brought your love to my sky
Endless, that once was lifeless and imperfect.
You make me feel greatly joyous and blessed, so
On this day I thank you, and also to the
Universe, for entrusting me your golden heart.
Beautiful beyond belief are you to my eyes,
Artistic and knowledgeable is your worthy soul,
Before you, in my stone heart, there was nothing,
Your poet and lover shall I be, my beloved, forever.
LXIII
Facing Distance Comfortably & Grief-free
Though we live far away from one another,
We always make time to text each other.
Usually at sunset, when at last we're free,
A feeling connects us across the sky and sea.
In the digital world, our souls meet
Through texts and voice messages so sweet
That often makes each other's hearts skip a beat.
My dear makes me feel so lucky and complete.
Our bond grows stronger each day
As it faces the pain of distance and dismay.
Freeing itself, its flame burns bright,
And to each other's lives brings such warm light.
My beloved brown-eyed girl really
Is the perfect muse for my attempts at poetry.
For my love for her makes the words flow freely
From my soul and into the paper sheets, in which I almost write words of idolatry.
I can't help but see her as a divinity,
She has a voice so beautiful, soothing to my soul,
The looks of a goddess, oh epitome of femininity.
Flaws and all, I love her, my heart she stole.
To believe it all began on August six
Through a virtual letter I opened in a few clicks.
When we least expected it, we started the next year
With a romance so innocent and sincere.
Sometimes I wish though, that you could see
In yourself the beauty I see, let your darkness be.
Let me help you leave it behind,
Rest in my virtual arms, and let your mind unwind.
One day we'll close the gap, my dear,
And we'll seal the deal, for real.
No matter how difficult it might appear,
We'll make it to the end of this ordeal.
LXIV
First Weekversary
Though we've actually met five months ago,
It feels like we've known each other for years.
A week has passed since we made it official,
And, my dear, I love you more than you'll ever know.
Happy Weekversary, my beloved.
Words aren't even enough to express
All the things you make me feel,
But I try nonetheless.
I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful muse,
So great in every single sense.
My appreciation for you is immense.
Though you have your flaws, you're the only one I choose
To love each and every day, more and more,
And so I'll do forevermore.
I am aware that I am no poet,
But even so, I try to put this romance
Into words that barely even rhyme.
I love you, sweetheart. Thank you for giving our hearts a chance.
You'll always reside in my heart.
Art is what this love story is; shall we never be apart.
Nobody will ever take your place.
I would like us to lead a peaceful life in each other's never-ending embrace.
LXV
Clueless Dreamer
Yet again, you mysterious girl, have come
To visit me in the best of my dreams,
With your little sister in arms, it seems,
You knocked on my front door, looking for me.
Symbols of Artemis were shown all over the dream.
Her very name, arrows and bows in plain sight.
As you asked for clothing for your little sister,
I just stood there charmed by your beauty's gleam.
You were dirty all over, dressed in old ragged clothing.
I told you I'd make my donations next day,
So you happily walked away,
But I boldly stopped you and approached for a kiss.
I could feel our heartbeats accelerating.
We had mutual feelings we couldn't dismiss.
Your eyes transmitted the warmest of feelings,
Also revealed an insane amount of pain,
As if you hid them all under the rain,
So nobody noticed your tears.
Shall you be the purest of beings.
I have the feeling Artemis, my dear goddess,
Has something to do with it.
A message to deliver perhaps,
As I think about it for a little bit,
I come to believe that perhaps you are the goddess herself.
Oh, mysterious maiden of my dreams,
You of the golden hairs and bluest eyes,
If my heart didn't already belong to another,
I'd be looking for you all day and night,
Far and wide till I find you, with all my might.
One of these days I shall ask for your name.
Even awake I still feel the warmth of your lips,
The feeling of your skin and your fingertips.
Do I love you or am I just being delusional again?
LXVI
Dianne
Mesmerizing dark brown eyes,
Smooth and beautiful black hair,
Truly a goddess in disguise.
Her skin is soft and smooth,
Her touch—quite addictive, I swear.
Her voice—soothing and melodic,
One could say it's even rhapsodic.
Expressing feelings may be a struggle for her,
Yet, when she does so, blessings double.
Insecurity may cross her path,
A challenge for one so gorgeous and unique.
Yet, she's the strongest girl I know,
Her strength—an unwavering glow.
She's a skilled artist who embraces her emotions,
Her drawings speak with heartfelt grace.
In her eyes, not the greatest, she may see,
Yet, to me, she's among the best, undoubtedly.
As a girlfriend, she is truly wonderful,
She can make your world suddenly more colorful.
Her love truly is powerful,
For despite the distance, you can feel her presence
From every word she types, her very essence.
All in all, Dianne is a great woman,
And I feel honored to be hers.
I devote to her my entire being.
Her affection certainly is freeing.
My love for you, an unwavering sea,
I love you, Dianne, my one and only, eternally.
LXVII
Love From Afar
Seventeen thousand kilometers away,
There lives my sweetheart,
Life's greatest work of art.
A gorgeous Filipina gal who captivated my heart,
In less than a day,
Almost from the very start.
Her dark hair is smooth and majestic,
Facing the wind, under the bright moonlight,
She looks like a goddess of the night.
Oh my, I can't help but love her with all my might.
She might say that I’m exaggerating,
But though she denies,
If you stared into her captivating brown eyes,
You too would agree with me,
For your heartbeat would also be accelerating.
I crave for the touch of her fair skin,
To see her in person grin,
Close the gap, and finally hold her,
And let the best chapter of our lives begin.
Never would I have thought that
I'd fall in love with somebody through chat,
But though it goes against my old ideals,
I don't complain, I've been offered the best of deals.
Involuntarily she took me out of the darkness,
And in return, I offered my unconditional love.
Though she might perceive herself a mess,
To me, there couldn't be anyone more perfect.
In my eyes, she is the only one,
I love her, now and forever.
And though my poor attempts at poetry
Might make no sense ever,
I strive to gift her the best of verses.
Though I am no poet, bard, or knight,
For her I'd undoubtedly fight,
Songs and poems I'd also write,
And deal with any threat that might lie in sight.
It doesn't matter if I feel fright,
For my princess, Dianne, whose soul is my light,
I'll face the beasts of day and night.
This is my promise, my plight,
May our love’s flame forever shine bright.

LXVIII
First Monthsary
In my entire life, I never expected
To meet someone as beautiful as you,
Who could love me as greatly as you do.
This romance is an exciting adventure
That I could have never projected.
Blessed be, Oh Dianne,
Woman of intellect and outstanding looks.
Blessed be you, Oh Dianne, who enjoys traveling
Through the vast worlds of your books.
Blessed be our love story, now and forever.
Happy Monthsary, Dianne, love of my life.
I am so grateful to have you by my side,
There's nothing I wouldn't do for you.
May in this great journey, the Lord be our guide.
LXIX
My Love Language (LDR)
Like raven and dove,
Our tale is certainly one of a kind.
Differently, we experience this thing called love,
This feeling that's so difficult to read for the mind.
I love you, and I show it through words,
Even through attempts at poetry, and so on,
But no matter how much or little I have done,
Nothing seems to fully embody what I truly feel.
In a not so distant future,
When we finally close the gap,
I'll lovingly pamper you, as you sit on my lap.
I'll cuddle you and whisper words of love, as you take a nap.
Perhaps my actions might get closer to show you,
Through everything I’ve done and that I'll do,
What your well-being and happiness mean to me.
That is indeed my greatest wish, so mote it be.
LXX
Curse
Upon the divine powers from the skies, I call,
To declare that a curse shall be cast upon myself,
If I ever dare to give in to temptation,
To cheat on my partner and for somebody else fall.
Upon the divine powers from the underworld, I call,
To declare that a punishment shall be given to me,
If I ever dare to harm my partner in any way,
Violence won't be tolerated at all.
As this lame poem comes to a conclusion,
I take an oath, giving my life as a price.
And this is certainly no delusion,
For there’ll be no room for the same mistake twice.
